Night Macro at Lower Pierce

First time joining Steve Why's weekly night shoot at Lower Pierce, and was greeted by numerous species of bugs new to me. It was only later that I found out that those subjects were there almost every other time shooters visited!

Kudos to Steve Why for organizing and spotting all the bugs for everyone!

#1 Baby Huntsman near the entrance

#2 My first scorpion! Illuminated by Sunny's UV torch. I hereby made the decision to get my own UV torch to play with!!

#3 Harvestman eating a fungus

#4 Closer look at the Harvestman

#5 Scorpions were running amock at night. Be careful where you sit... for this was found together with some other scorpions crawling under a bench

#6 Someone decided to hold the scorpion up by it's tail! GEH...

#7 Lighting the underside of the hanging scorpion with UV

#8 And of course, the more menacing side

#9 Front view of a caterpillar. Looks like.. Bumblebee from Transformers!!

#10 Another hairy fella

#11 These huntsmen are usually found on tree barks

#12 And almost always facing down. Not sure why though!

#13 A really hairy dude

#14 Higher view of Mr Hairy

#15 A spider pranced up

#16 Is it just me or does this one look really old?

#17 Another view of Mr Hairy

#18 Final Scorpion shot

#19 Close up on another spider, ID not known

The complete album can be viewed here.
